The Great Flood

lyrics

The cemetery's underwater
And all the bodies float away
Father's crying for his daughter
Who's drifting slow in sweet decay

The hangman steps onto his scaffold
And feels his skin begin to pale
He'd tie the ropes before the tide rolls
And soon he'll be swinging from the rails

We all knew this day would come
We all knew the waves would crash
We all knew the world would fall
But the great flood came at last

The fields are buried by the sand now
And all the flowers softly tear
The birds will never find their land now
And so they'll die in the air

The fleers only stalled their finish
'Cause you can't see the highway, can ya?
It all reminds me of Atlantis
But it looks like the Lusitania

We all knew this day would come
We all knew the waves would crash
We all knew the world would fall
But the great flood came at last
